This will be a happier blog than the last one lol. Ahhh (deep breath). :)
Let's talk about music! I LOVE MUSIC! I honestly do not know where I would be today if music didn't exist; I probably could NOT live without music in my life, not to be melodramatic or anything lol! I have had music in my life in so MANY different forms in my life thus far and each has strengthened & broadened my love & knowledge about music. I started playing piano when I was about 4 or 5. Learning to play the piano was important for my own personal music foundation; I learned to read music. I also danced from the age of 2 until I was about 10 or 11. I sang in the choir at my elementary school & then in fourth & fifth grade, I auditioned for & sang in a choir called Discovery Choir that performed with the amazing orchestra from my hometown. Then in middle school would be when I believe I truly fell in love with music & singing. My middle school choir director was one of the most talented, creative, and amazing teachers & singers that I have ever heard, let alone met, in my life. He introduced myself & all his students to the magical & powerful wonders of music. He was the one person who I say truly made me want to be a singer. I grew to love music SOO much during my three years of middle school. I also was in the musicals Grease & West Side Story. I also played clarinet during middle school & liked it but only did it to get out of gym, haha! ;) In high school, I did choir my entire four years, showchoir my sophomore & junior years, & was co-president of my showchoir my junior year with one of my best friends. I had a blast!! I actually still miss it now :/
In college, I intially (my senior year of high school) thought I would go to school to study Vocal Music as a major, since singing is what I want to do. After thinking about it though, I decided to become a History major...which I'm about to change, aha. I have always had some major stage fright. But, like with showchoir & musicals, performing in a group was better than say, performing a solo - EEK! I'm stilll pretty much scared of what people may say...but the stage fright issue seems to be dissipating as I get older. But maybe that's because my desire to make it singing it overcoming my fear.
Which can bring me to my love for everything music in my life, lol! I love discovering new music, anywhere. I get it from friends, from movies, tv shows, youtube videos, from tv commercials & movie trailers; I don't care where I find it, I just LOVE finding it. All different kinds. I like Josh Groban to Three Days Grace; Gloriana, Carrie Underwood, & Taylor Swift to Mayday Parade, We the Kings to Jason Reeves.
My parents used to get season tickets to that same symphony orchestra that I sang with, so I have been exposed to classical music & composers since I was young, which came in handy when they require that you take classical music & humanities classes in college.
Music helps me express myself, whatever that may be at the time. It can match or improve my mood at any given time. Needless to say, music is amazinggg & soo important in my life♥
